10 DAYS! Countdown to Fall Festival: Sponsor Spotlight w/ Alamo Drafthouse Cinema & 3 auction items
Updated: Nov 1, 2019
Only 10 days to go until the BIG day!
The HES PTA Fall Festival will be here before you know it! Do you have your calendar marked for Saturday, November 9th from 4-7:30pm? If not, take a moment NOW to schedule it.
Sponsor Spotlight: Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
Our Fall Festival would not be possible without the generous sponsors in our
community. Today, the HES PTA would like to recognize Alamo Drafthouse Cinema
as our Fall Festival's movie sponsor for the second year in a row. We especially thank Alamo Drafthouse in North Richland Hills and the Digaetano Family. Thanks to this sponsorship, our families and community members will be able to enjoy watching the Secret Life of Pets 2 under the stars at HES for FREE.
Located in North Richland Hills, Las Colinas, and all around the nation, Alamo Drafthouse was founded in Austin, TX by Tim and Karrie League, who were driven by a simple love for great film, food, and beer. Their first theater at 409 Colorado Street was a fairly simple one screen operation, built by hand, that initially featured second run titles at discount rates. The Leagues' passion for programming quickly soared past the standard repertory theater midnight fare.
Soon, what was once a non-descript parking garage became the hub for every true cinephile in central Texas. Within its first year the venue was playing host to film premieres, visiting filmmakers, and even caught the eye of Quentin Tarantino, who began hosting legendary five-day marathon screenings of classic exploitation titles from his personal collection.
Over the years, the original Colorado Street location became a laboratory for more innovative programming and events, and the Leagues began opening more and larger theaters that offered a fresh mix of Hollywood product and indie fare.
Today, Alamo Drafthouse has dozens of locations across the United States, with many more to come. Each location is managed with the same dedication and careful regard to each detail of the experience, and all locations share in nationally produced signature programming and special events that have been inspired by those first experiments with alternative content that the Leagues developed in their original theater on Colorado Street.
